Data centre operator AirTrunk lands in HK

Private equity-backed data centre start-up AirTrunk will establish its first facility in Hong Kong, a $US150 million ($218 million) hub that is set to open late next year.

The 20 megawatt facility will be near Tsuen Wan, close to key data centres and Hong Kong’s connectivity hub, enabling access to greater China and neighbouring north-east Asian countries.

The move into Hong Kong is part of AirTrunk’s broader expansion from its Australian base into the key Asian markets identified by chief executive and founder Robin Khuda and his team.
